Ricky Burns
1.Anadarko – Pre-d hearing held on member accused of not properly doing narcotic check sheets, member given a verbal reprimand.
2.Altus – Grievance on Chief changing call back procedures, local put City on notice that it will arbitrate the issue.
3.Chickasha – Two grievances still pending, one on members being assigned non fire/ems related work, another on members cost not being covered to take national registry paramedic exam. Contract negotiations on going, two issues still unresolved….union asking for extra holiday, City/Chief wants mandatory training on days off.
4. Duncan – Currently in negotiations
5. Fredrick – Nothing to report on
6.Lawton – Fire Chief reassigned two members to different stations, members were brothers and had been working together at the same station on the same shift, grievance filed. Fire Chief cited nepotism clause in city charter, Local has filed a grievance. Issue on member being given a point on record for alleged violation of policies for an on scene accident was resolved. Grievance on City violating an MOU regarding not filling a position, the City filled that position and then left another open in its place….grievance was settled. Fire Chief being investigated for alleged hostile work environment.
- Mustang – Currently in negotiations
- Newcastle – Local turned in some potential FLSA issues to IAFF and the IAFF Legal department looked at them and determined there was no violation.
